CRA Training  is a comprehensive behavioural programme for treating substance abuse problems, based on the belief that environmental contingencies can play a powerful role in encouraging or discouraging drinking or drug use.   It was delivered by Gerry Ryan of the Tolka River Project in the Sligo Development Centre and funded by the North West Regional Drugs Task Force. All RDTF project workers who work in the area of treatment and rehabilitation participated over the two days. Follow up training workshops will take place in mid November, early December.

Drug Harms and Effects Workshop 15th of October 2013

Workshop is aimed at providing information for those who work with clients at risk from using drugs and alcohol. Workshop will refresh and update participants knowledge on the range of psychoactive substances and the impact of these substances on the brain and body.  It will enable participants to identify signs and symptoms of alcohol and drug misuse as well as providing participants with information on early interventions and referral pathways.  It will take place in the Donegal Public Service Centre from 9.30 3.30pm FLYER FOR HOUSING EVENT _2_

The fear of intimidation as a result of drug related debt and the lived experiences of intimidation by service users and their families is an issue that has confronted services for many years. Letterkenny C.D.P. launched Holistic Therapy Programme

This programme is part of Letterkenny C.D.P’s  Community Response to Drug/Alcohol Issues throughout Co. Donegal; providing non-judgemental support, guidance and education to drug/alcohol users, their families and the community; enabling them to cope with the effects of drug/alcohol use in their everyday lives.  The Programme is funded by the Office of Minister of Drugs through the NWRDATF and supported by H.S.E.  West (channel of funding) and also supported by the Dept. of Social Protection through the Community Employment Programme. The evening was facilitated by Margaret Toner Voluntary Manager of Letterkenny C.D.P. and was well attended by local people and groups
