2018_ALCOHOL & OTHER DRUGS TRAINING CALENDAR The Training Coordinator has designed, developed and delivers a range of education & training in the field of alcohol & other drugs and works in partnership with the Alcohol Forum, HSE West (Donegal) and North West Regional Drug and Alcohol Task Force on specific & various projects. Tailored ‘in-service’ training is available for your services and organisations. Requests will be accommodated to the best of our ability, where possible. Public Health Alcohol Bill to be reintroduced after Halloween The long-stalled Public Health (Alcohol) Bill, 2015, will be reintroduced in the Seanad when the House resumes after the Halloween break, the Taoiseach has confirmed. Leo Varadkar told the Dáil on Wednesday the Bill would be in the Upper House on November 8th, as concerns were raised about the delay in bringing the controversial legislation through the Oireachtas.

pregnancy-and-alcohol Leaflet HSE marks International Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Awareness Day As part of the HSE’s www.askaboutalcohol.ie campaign, and to mark International FASD Day (9th September) the HSE has developed a new leaflet for pregnant women to provide clear guidance on how to avoid the risk of FASD, download attachment above. Drinking alcohol during pregnancy puts the unborn baby at risk of FASD, which encompasses a wide range of developmental problems caused by exposure to alcohol during pregnancy that may lead to life-long difficulties.
